We have a number of images on CD (about 200) which we wish to arrange as a centenary display, probably using HTML to make the equivalent of a website.
This means that we want to make ourselves a thumbnail for each one (so that you can see what you are getting), and (to make HTML easier) we would like to print (to file) a list of the filenames from the folders. These are in most cases long filenames, so we can't use DOS for this.
There is no obvious way to do this (except copying etc each one by hand: which is not to be desired): but the problem must occur moderately often.
Has anyone found a solution? Ingenuity? Software? Fooling the computer into thinking it is doing something else?
