Here's a reference resource I've been availing of for ages. It's designed for writers, hacks and dabblers of all sorts, editors, crossword puzzlers, scrabblers, word gamesters, indeed, anyone who uses dictionaries.
Don't let the name put you off. It is a rhyming dictionary but if you use the pull down list beside the search box you'll find that you can also look up synonyms, antonyms, definitions, related words, homophones, etc.
You'll also find special sections for searching Shakespeare's works, quotations, various texts, word games and puzzles. And there's a forum in case you want to chat with other wordsters.
