Does anyone remember, and are therefore able to supply the complete version of, a chinese saying that was used in LIFE magazine's advertising in the 1970's?

he who knows not, and knows that he knows not is a pupil, teach him

he who knows not, and knows not that he knows not is a ???

He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is a ???

He who knows, and knows that he knows is a ?prophet?, follow him.

Its been (partially)in my head for years! I've tried mailing the Time-Life web support but they replied they don't do research. I can't find anything similar on various search engines. Can anyone help?

Don

I can find variations of this proverb by using www.google.com and searching for phrase "he who knows not" for example: http://web.mit.edu/impact/www/sharing/sharing13.html or http://proverb.taiwanonline.org/display.php or http://teachers.net/mentors/literature/topic1725/10.05.01.04.37.10.html
