I am trying to find some authoritative information on managing quality in indexing. The particular setting is an inhouse database with about ten indexers, a thesuarus and indexing guidelines. I have found some items on the web about the level of inter-indexer consistency that can be expected - but not answers to questions such as how many records should be checked, how often and what is an acceptable level of agreement. I suspect there is no clear cut answer and it will rest on commonsense. However I don't think this can be a new question.
