 Forthcoming events & anniversaries resources?

I'm looking for resources (Web or otherwise) which feature lists of major world events and anniversaries for 2004, 2005 etc. At the moment I'm trawling through encyclopedias and Chronicles of World History but this doesn't give me forthcoming events such as World summits and sporting events. There is an American publication called Chases Calendar of Events, but they no longer have a free Web site - any ideas very gratefully received.
Many thanks
Simone
