Hi folks,
I am doing some preliminary work for a company that is in the early stages of commercializing its laser-based digital capture system and one of the markets that it intends to penetrate is the museum/library market. The Company believes that there is a large market for 3D digitazation of archives and that eventually this sector could represent a significant business opportunity. There is little doubt that the Company's technology is "second-to-none" but having little experience or knowledge of the finances, spending and budget process at Museums/libraries I am concerned that management may be overestimating the opportunity in terms revenues and underestimating the difficulty and decision making period for these entities. I have a copy of the DigiCULT report but I need to gather more specific information on the importance of digitization to these groups, budgets or forecasts of spend on digitizating assets and the decision making process. Any assistance in providing me with information, contact names or some direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
