Colleagues,

In May of this year I will be returning to Sierra Sierra to set up a small environmental library. While I have extensive experience of Dewey, I'm unsure what classification schemes exist for environmental collections or if there are specialised classifications in existence for this area, and also if there are subject headings (apart from Library of Congress) for this area.

Any advice on how to organise a small collection of books and pamphlets relating to the environment would be really appreciated.

Many thanks,

Helen Fallon

You might find it useful to look at the GEneral Multilingual Environmental Thesaurus (GEMET).
