I've been using the del.icio.us social bookmarking tool for some time now and have found it to be very useful.

Because the tool allows you to tag each packet of information, I'd like to use the tool to catalogue and maintain a growing list of speakers, which I will then be sharing amongst a group of people.

At the moment as I understand it you can only bookmark websites and tag them. In order to use the same system for indexing speakers I'd have to create a webpage with every speaker record on it. What I'd like to do is use the del.ic.ous to be able to tag and retrieve individual records that are stored on a database. This would allow me to pull lists of speakers from the database using the keywording system provided (say for example the event is about Nuclear Ventilation I can extract all speakers that have been catalogued under 'Power' who also have the keywords nuclear, ventilation, etc.

Does anyone know if something similar has already been attempted with del.ic.ous?

Thanks

Martin
