Dear Karrie

Edinburgh is a lovely place to live, but its expensive, partly because the price of property has gone through the roof (forgive the pun). Its difficult to get on the property ladder when you can't get much below 80,000. Look in the ESPC online for prices: http://www.espc.co.uk Its quite a conservative place, Glasgow is much more zippy. In Edinburgh we dress down to go out, in Glasgow they dress up. There are lots of pubs here and old bank buildings have been converted into trendy bars and coffee bars.

Hope this helps

best wishes
