There are a couple of Theses databases around and if you're at a (UK?) university you may be able to get access to them. Should think Index to Theses is the most useful.

Index to Theses is available in print and web formats (web access via IP address so you may be able to go straight in. It lists theses accepted for higher degrees in Great Britain and Ireland Universities from 1970 onwards.

Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) online. (Copies of electronic theses & dissertations).

UMI Proquest Digital Dissertations - citations (1861-), abstracts (1970)& some full text for UK & US dissertations. Again, IP access for institutional subscribers so you may be able to go straight in.

Hope this helps
