The FreePint Philosophy

For over 10 years, FreePint has been publishing tips, articles and resources to help information professionals do their work. We've watched the information world change. And we've seen a lot of Big Ideas come and go.

With over a decade of experience, and a lot of feedback from readers and contributors, we've come to believe two things:

1. Information work is no longer confined to a library, research centre of information unit; everyone has an information role; everyone is responsible for skilled interaction with information.
2. Our unique contribution to their efforts is to provide resources that are practical and useful.

Together these two beliefs form the FreePint Philosophy.

We apply the philosophy to our entire product line, business planning and the way we build partnerships.

How We Work

In addition to the FreePint Philosophy, we approach our work with certain values:

• Peer to Peer Communication: The real experts in the field are always the people who are doing the work, solving problems every day. We nurture connections between professionals around the world, and we encourage individuals to share their expertise with the industry.
• Collaboration and Partnership: We are one part of a complex business world. We can best support the industry, the individuals, companies and organisations within it by seeking out and building collaborative relationships in the spirit of partnership rather than competition.
• These Are Exciting Times: The business world is changing dramatically - almost on a daily basis. Information -- and the professionals who know how to interact with it -- has never been more important than it is today. We are excited and inspired by these changes.
