Article:
A new free resource on women's medicine has been launched online: the Global Library of Women's Medicine. It is yet in beta but already offers free full-text access to all users. Over 442 expert chapters provide detailed clinical guidance on most aspects of women's medicine: Gynecology, Gynecology Oncology, Obstetrics, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility and Genetics, Fertility Regulation, Psychosomatic Problems, and Human Sexuality
All material on this site is claimed to be peer reviewed and additionally many recent references are linked to PubMed and FDA where appropriate and possible. The site also includes a video library of short surgical procedure clips, a range of atlases to aid visual diagnosis and, last but not least, it provides special interactive options, allowing other professionals to contribute constructive commentaries and other inputs which of course are subject to expert review. Some of these features are only accessible for members of the medical profession (doctors, nurses, midwives, sonographers etc) after a free registration.
The objective of the website is to support clinicians in their care of women as well as to be a resource for patients to learn more about women's medicine. The Global Library of Women’s Medicine is published by Sapiens Global Library Limited (an associated company of Sapiens Publishing Limited) and will be constantly updated and extended.
