"Mergent Online content includes current and historical data on 15,000 US public
companies and their SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) filings, including their
annual reports in PDF format, and detailed data on 20,000 non-US public companies.
There are also detailed descriptions of public companies as they appear in the Mergent
Manuals (formerly Moody�s Manuals). Through the Mergent Global Private Company
module it also offers information on private companies. However, I was not given
access to any of the private company information for the purposes of this review. In
all, Mergent has 17,000 US active and inactive companies on the database, and 25,000
active and inactive non-US companies."
