FUMSI Report: Folio on Workflow Integration
27th May 2010
Workflow integration is important in high risk industries for compliance and audit, while in other sectors it is administration, management and exploitation of insider intelligence that make workflow integration attractive. Whatever the driver, it is organisational culture that will be the 'make or break' in terms of its success.
Products like SharePoint and Drupal are finding a role but each brings with it issues which need to be overcome, while Yahoo!Pipes and mashups also appear to have a valuable contribution to make. But, whatever the tool, copyright is still very much at the heart of workflow integration and still has a long way to go to provide the magic key to facilitate the use and reuse of e-information.
